How Brady Busted Arrests Work
Brady is the McCulloch County seat. The 2020 Census counted 5,118 residents. Its police department runs around the clock, staffed by fourteen sworn officers. That count includes one school resource officer, plus a single civilian employee. When a Brady arrest turns into a county jail booking, the police report and the jail intake record may end up with different custodians entirely.
For anyone currently held in the county, start with the McCulloch County Sheriff's Office and its linked Kologik public roster. That roster answers one question: who is in custody now. Someone released or transferred may simply drop off the list. A Brady police report can also exist without any county booking attached. Not every arrest ends in jail intake.
The official Brady Police Department overview describes the agency's scope and its continuous service.
That city page confirms the department exists and what it covers. It does not publish a daily Brady arrest log, booking blotter, or photo feed. This gap is exactly why the two routes must be checked on separate tracks. City records and county custody simply live in different places.
Note: A current roster result reflects county custody or processing, not a finding that a person committed the listed allegation.
Where Brady Busted Mugshots Appear
Start with official sources. The county-linked Kologik roster is the live tool for anyone in McCulloch County custody, though its photo display, search fields, refresh timing, and retention rules are not spelled out publicly. For the city's arrest report or a photograph held at the municipal level, the Brady Police Department is the right office. A court docket picks up the case after booking. It will not show live custody status.
| Channel | Photo status | Authority and use |
|---|---|---|
| Kologik public jail roster | Not confirmed in static research | Official county-linked current-custody route |
| Brady Police records custodian | Ask for any maintained case photograph | Official city route for Brady police material |
| McCulloch criminal dockets | Not a photo source | Official court-stage and bond context |
| County-tagged secondary pages | May copy an earlier record | Unofficial, incomplete, and not custody confirmation |
VINELink offers another official-linked route, covering custody status and notifications when a county match turns up. It is not a photo archive. The VINELink search helps separate a notification question from a request for the actual booking record. One caution applies here. If the roster shows no one, that does not mean no arrest happened, since release, transfer, spelling differences, and the limits of the public view can all hide a name.
Find a Brady Booking Record
A smart Brady lookup works backward. Start from current custody and move to the custodian of the historical record. Begin with an exact spelling and an approximate arrest or booking date. The county roster covers only the current-custody slice, while a records request can chase files that no longer appear live. Note who made the arrest, too. If it was Brady Police, the city may hold the report or a case photograph as well.
- Open the sheriff-linked Kologik roster and use the live search or filters it actually provides. Verify any displayed date, agency, and custody label.
- If there is no current result, consider release or transfer before treating the search as negative. Use VINELink only for custody status or notifications.
- Request the Brady police report and any city-held photograph when Brady Police made the arrest. Request the jail booking or intake record from the county when county booking is involved.
- Check the criminal docket and the relevant clerk record for the next court stage or final disposition. A docket entry is not a conviction.
The full county sequence, covering the roster, notifications, records requests, and courts, is laid out on the McCulloch County booking-record resource. It also explains why TDCJ, federal, and immigration locators answer custody questions that a Brady jail booking does not.
- Booking
- Jail intake that creates a custody record. It is not a court finding.
- Bond
- A court-set release condition or amount.
- Disposition
- The court's eventual outcome, which can differ from the charge listed at intake.
Note: Save the source date and exact labels from an official result, because custody status can change after a search is performed.
Brady Police Arrest Records
The Office of the Chief handles the city's records-custodian duties. Its own description lists reports, supplements, in-car and body-camera video, statements, and photographs gathered as case material. That makes the office the natural target for a city request covering an arrest report or a photo. It does not mean the department posts daily booking photos. Nor does it mean every requested image gets released without review.
The official chief and records page carries the city contact and records context.
Send the city request to Brady Police for their material. For a county jail booking record or booking photograph, use a separate McCulloch County Open Records Request Form. The two requests can return different records. The arresting agency and the jail are not the same custodian. Texas public-records law allows review for exceptions and redactions, so filing is no guarantee that every item comes back disclosed.

For a city request, use the Brady Open Records Act form. The form requires completion for each request, allows inspection or copies, and states that requests are handled promptly, usually within ten working days. Brady's published fee page lists $4 per page for public and police public records. That figure belongs to the city alone. Do not assume it applies to a county jail record or a photograph.
Brady Busted Feed Limits
Brady has no official same-day booking page. There is no weekly blotter or city mugshot feed either. The county sheriff runs no separate multi-day feed of its own. What exists is the Kologik roster, the documented public roster for the county. Calling it a 24-hour or 48-hour feed would be a guess. Stick with what its live interface actually shows.
That gap shapes your search. Start with the current county roster for a fresh arrest. Need a date range or an older booking? Go to the custodian directly. Give them the name, the dates you want, the arresting agency, and a booking number if you have one. Add the listed charges and any bond or release details. Frame the ask as whether a record exists, since a particular photo may not be public at all.
Custody and court history are two different trails. The county criminal docket can show a cause number, the offense, bond amount, attorney, hearing times, and arraignment settings. It supplements the roster rather than replacing it.
Important: Booking entries and news items change as cases move through court, so confirm the outcome with the clerk or court before relying on it.
Note: The city form covers Brady records, while the county form and sheriff contact route cover jail intake, release, and county-held booking material.
Brady Arrests After Release
A name can drop off the live roster while the paperwork survives elsewhere. Brady police reports stay with the department, and county incarceration records stay with the jail, each subject to its own rules. Court files often tell the fuller story after a booking. The LGS Online Records Search and the county and district clerks handle court records, not present custody.
On the docket, find the court stage and match the cause number or agency fields against the booking material. When the outcome matters, request the clerk record or a certified disposition. Someone sentenced to state custody in Texas will show up in the TDCJ offender search, a wholly different population from a fresh Brady booking, and it carries no verified booking-photo field.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 sets the public-information framework, with exceptions and lawful redactions allowed. Chapter 552 demands prompt production. An agency that needs more than ten business days must say so in writing and give a realistic delivery date. Locating, reviewing, redacting, and estimating costs for a record still takes time.
Brady Busted News Sources
For a current Brady arrest, the official trail still runs through the roster, the police records office, and the courts. Historical context is another matter. The Brady Area Newspaper Collection at the Portal to Texas History holds Brady Standard and Brady Herald material worth searching. Treat it as an archive, though. It is not a live arrest log or a way to check who is in jail right now.
County-tagged secondary pages can surface an old reference. They never outrank the official source. RecentlyBooked's McCulloch County page and a BustedNewspaper county-tagged example are unofficial. Expect the usual copying errors, stale entries, missing bookings, and duplicates. None of them can confirm an arrest, jail status, or a court result.
The working order stays simple. Verify custody with the county. Request city material from Brady Police where it applies. Then follow the case through the court record. For a closer look at each type of media source, see Mugshots in the News.
Note: The archival newspaper collection preserves historical reporting, so its publication dates should not be confused with a current booking or release date.
